Monitor Audio CLG140
The CLG140 satellite speaker is a robust high sensitivity design built to deliver richly detailed hi-fi quality mid/high frequencies.
Engineered to withstand the most extreme temperatures and weather conditions, its rigid conical polymer enclosure houses the company’s signature 1” (25 mm) C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter co-axially aligned with a 4″ MMP bass-mid driver. The horn-shaped housing provides excellent audio directivity in free air conditions when positioned close to the garden surface on a bracket/spike assembly, which neatly encapsulates and channels the connecting cable into the ground for a discreetly installed result. Alternatively it’s possible to mount the CLG140 on a tree, pole, wall or fence.
Supplied in a durable dark brown finish for excellent coordination with garden colours, the CLG140’s casing can be painted to blend with any environment.

Monitor Audio CLG160
Suitable for ground level installation within the garden and around decking areas or mounted onto a tree, pole or garden fence, the new CLG160 speaker features a rigid polymer shell which ensures it is resilient to extreme weather conditions.
Installation is simple, thanks to the requirement for the speaker to be wired in a mono configuration and powered by one amplifier channel. The other amplifier channel can be used to power the subwoofer. This configuration allows the levels between bass and mid-high range to be easily equalised. Alternatively, the system can be designed to provide stereo operation if desired by creating stereo left/right zones.
Despite being installed outside, the aesthetics of the speakers are just as important. Finished in dark brown, the CLG160 blends seamlessly into this environment to provide high quality sound for outdoor entertainment, whilst not distracting from the landscape. The speaker casing can be painted a different colour, if required.

Technology

Monitor Audio CLG-W10
The CLG-W10 subwoofer is a new addition to Monitor Audio’s Climate Garden System of outdoor loudspeakers that have been designed to take Monitor Audio’s award-winning hi-fi audio into the garden. The CLG-W10 is weather resistant and delivers a deep bass sound into the great outdoors.
Designed to bring the bass outside, the CLG-W10 subwoofer can be partially buried in a garden border or positioned on a deck or patio area. The compact dimensions make it extremely versatile and provide a variety of installation options. The CLG-W10 is designed to augment the low frequencies when teamed with the other outdoor speakers in Monitor Audio’s Climate Garden System.
The CLG-W10 is tough and durable in extreme conditions and is rated to IP54. The unique design and manufacturing process ensures there are no joints, making the subwoofer impervious to water. Its dark brown colour blends perfectly with landscape tones and, as it is not painted or coated, the surface will not chip or deteriorate over time.
The subwoofer features a bespoke Inverted Cone Driver that utilises a rigid dome diaphragm (formed from Monitor Audio’s renowned C-CAM material) to deliver powerful, punchy bass. The inverted dome ensures any water that enters the mesh vents will drain away and, thanks to its ceramic coating, the C-CAM is impervious to moisture and tough environmental conditions. A dual spider configuration (inspired by Monitor Audio’s flagship loudspeaker series) ensures the driver stays in perfect alignment when under extreme audio loads.
All the speakers in the Climate Garden System deliver a luxurious blend of unobtrusive aesthetics and natural full-range audio to gardens of any size. A garden system can be comprised of up to sixteen CLG140 or CLG160 satellite speakers and up to three CLG-W10 or CLG-W12 subwoofers when using an IA800-2C amplifier in a 70/100 V line array. The set-up is expandable with additional satellite, subwoofer and amplifier sets according to garden area, and has an operating temperature range from -20° to +70° C / -4° to +158° F

Monitor Audio CLG-W12
The CLG-W12 is a passive subwoofer. Optimised for discreet sub-surface installation, its proprietary Monitor Audio bandpass design incorporates an internally loaded 12″ C-CAM driver which sits in a waterproof rotationally-moulded polymer enclosure buried below the garden surface – only the CLG-W12’s domed output port is visible.
From this little ‘chimney’ powerfully taut bass frequencies will join the clean mids and highs of the surrounding CLG140/CLG160 satellites for punchy and articulate full-range garden sound.
The CLG-W12 can be powered from a single amplifier channel at 4 ohms, with its 70/100 V line option recommended for cable runs over 10m (30ft) and for adding subwoofers to the system. In this line configuration, the CLG140/CLG160 satellites are daisy-chained to the CLG-W12, one after the other, up to a recommended maximum of twelve per subwoofer. System expansion to larger garden spaces simply involves the addition of amplifier channels, subwoofers and satellites.
In the simplest designs, satellites are connected in a mono configuration to one amplifier channel, the other channel powering the subwoofer. The use of a stereo power amplifier with 70/100volt line capability and crossover features will allow the adjustment of levels between bass and mid-high range. Alternatively, the system can be designed to provide stereo operation by adding elements to create left/right zones.
When installed the Climate Garden System delivers a smooth, wide-open and controlled frequency response from 30 Hz to 30 kHz in the targeted environment: better than many home audio systems! For patio or deck applications, the CLG-W12 will install within a planter box to enhance Monitor Audio’s CL Series all-weather cabinet speakers with deep bass frequencies, giving custom installers additional design options.
